  Academic Decline and Learning Loss During COVID-19: Understanding the Long-Term Impact of Remote Learning   In early 2020, classrooms around the world suddenly fell silent. As the COVID-19 pandemic spread across countries and continents, governments closed schools to protect public health and slow transmission of the virus. What was initially expected to be a short-term disruption quickly evolved into one of the largest educational crises in modern history.
